Trying to Lose belly fat is challenging to most people due to lack of education. As a coach and trainer, I meet people everyday who are trying to lose belly fat, but are still eating the wrong food. It is the lack of knowledge among these folks that lead to weight loss failures. Several misleading believes and superstitions about losing belly fat or extra fat are a big part of our community today. Be careful what to believe! One such misconception is regarding carbohydrates. People think that carbohydrates are all bad and that if one can reduce carbohydrate intake, or even better, totally avoid carbohydrates, then they can lose belly fat fast! What are left are empty calories which only make you gain instead of lose belly fat. Therefore if you are trying to lose belly fat or extra body fat, you should stay away from these foods. Examples of such foods are chips, white bread, pasta, soft drinks, cakes, biscuits, candies, among others; I hope you get the picture.

These processed foods contain a lot of sugar and as you might be aware, sugar is rich in calorie content known to increase instead of to lose belly fat or extra body fat. The more sugar you consume, the fatter you become! These foods offer very little nutrition to your body and since they have very little fiber content, they are easily converted by your body into fat deposits which accumulate as abdominal fat.

You should know that eating processed foods regularly not only frustrates your efforts to lose belly fat, but can also result in diabetes, since your blood sugar levels increase so much that it becomes extremely difficult for insulin to control it! The big question is what are good carbohydrates? Good carbohydrates can usually be found in natural foods, such as raw fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, whole meal pasta, whole grain wheat, etc. These foods contain carbs for sure that can help you lose belly fat, but not the ones that would make you fat! Unlike the fast carbs contained in the processed foods, these are slow carbs which take a long time to digest; therefore, you don’t accumulate but lose belly fat!  Plus they also contain a high amount of fiber.
